How do I find out which pieces were in my old sets?

If you have lost a piece from a set, or just want to know which pieces appear in a specific set, there are two ways to check it:

Beginning in 2005, all LEGO instructions booklets have an inventory of the pieces in the last pages. Just take a look. You will find the piece reference and quantity for this set.

For sets made before 2005, you can find inventories on several sites. Visit www.peeron.com or www.bricklink.com to find a list of all the pieces in a set. Inventories found on these sites were made by fans. You can assist these sites by updating and adding new set inventories.
