Ben began building with LEGO bricks at the age of 3.
In 1984 he received a 6080 King's Castle and became hooked for life.
During the 1980's and 1990's Ben built many Castle, Space, Town, and Pirate creations.
Designing with LEGO and traveling to historic buildings in the United States inspired Ben to become an architect when he grew up.
After putting bricks away in high school, he rediscovered the joy of building in college with the Castle and Wild West themes.
Ben enjoys building historic inspired buildings such as castle gates, medieval shops, watermills, and train stations.
Many of these creations have been displayed at past BrickFest events.
Ben is a member of GtwLug in Saint Louis and has been a presenter or theme coordinator at several BrickFests.
He is an avid collector and archivist of all LEGO Castle theme products and is the "Sets" Admin at
Classic-Castle.
Along with sets duties; Ben arranges CC events such as the annual
Colossal Castle Contest,
LEGO Castle Contest,
interviews, and chats with the LEGO Community Team.
Ben is an Intern Architect at a firm that works on preservation and adaptive reuse of historic residences in Saint Louis, Missouri.
He plans on becoming a licensed Architect and teaching architecture history at a university.
