When their searches turned to older sets Volker was astonished to find a newly developed LEGO community of adult fans on the internet.
Volker and his son attended a 1000Steine.de fan event and after that there was no turning back.
They had been infected with the LEGO-Virus and have been active members of the AFOL community ever since.
They have shown many of their creations at many events at places like Hattersheim, Potsdam, Berlin, Zwolle, MĂnchen and Frechen.
Some of Volker's MOCs have also been shown at tourist fairs in eastern Germany and as part of a recent toy show
(together with MOCs of other 1000Steine members and a collection of Barbie dolls).
In the beginning of his AFOL times, Volker used to build mostly train and city themes,
but in the last months he has also built pirate and fantasy MOCs.
He is especially interested in building nature-like landscapes, consisting of mountains, forests , lakes and waterfalls.
